  • Archery scientist, author

  • Co-authored Archery: The Technical Side with Dr. C. N. Hickman and Forrest Nagler

  •  Physicist and Research Engineer; Chief of Research/Development Section in General MacArthur's command in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during World War II

  •  Developed methods and devices for covert use by secret agents behind enemy lines; later, Professor of Applied Science, Northwestern University

  • All recurve composite bows made today make use of his scientific findings

  • Chairman, Board of Governors, National Archery Association, 1935-39

  • Recipient, National Archery Association's Thompson Medal of Honor, 1939

  • Recipient, National Field Archery Association Compton Medal of Honor, 1947
